I’m delighted to welcome Xavier Axelson to the blog today. Xavier has visited before but has kindly returned to let us know about his new book Earthly Concerns. You can also read an excerpt.
What’s your earliest memory of writing?
Writing a short story inspired by an episode of Thundercats in 4th grade.
Tell us about your favourite character from your own writing…
I love Anson from Earthly Concerns; he has a generosity and capacity to love that is commendable.
Tell us about your favourite character from someone else’s writing…
The Lovely, idealistic Tracy Whitney from Sidney Sheldon’s If Tomorrow Comes. Perfection.
What was your favourite read from 2011? Why?
An Irish County Doctor by Patrick Taylor because it is a kind and thoughtful story. We need more kind and thoughtful words in our lives.
If these were your only choices, what would you pick?
Stories: ‘Flowers and candies’ or ‘Crime and murder’
Flowers and candies
Writer: ‘Stephen King’ or ‘Jane Austen’
Book type: ‘eBook’ or ‘Audiobook’
Reading matter: ‘Wall Street Journal’ or ‘Perez Hilton’
Wall Street Journal
What was the last nice thing that someone did for you?
Someone had my rugs cleaned! I think it was the gnome that lives on my bookshelf, he’s very clever, and clean.
What was the last nice thing that you did for someone else?
I bought eclairs from a German bakery for someone special.
What’s your favourite blog?
Book Bags and Cat Naps of course!
Tell us the last dream you remember
Uggh, it involved a tub that had the ghosts of dead children in it and I could see them all coming out of it.
Say something nice to my cats before you leave us today
“Some people say that cats are sneaky, evil, and cruel. True, and they have many other fine qualities as well.”
Thank you to Xavier for visiting today!
